London: A female colleague was sexually harassed by a trade union boss and severely criticized for her parenting skills and not keeping her daughter in control as her daughter converted to Islam after changing her inherited religion.

The alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said that in August, the senior officer of a leading trade union said to her, “Oh God, where did you go wrong?” after she informed him about her daughter’s conversion to Islam.

The woman said that his comments were disparaging to both her and Islam. The trade union leader denies making the comments but admits telling her about an “animated debate” he had with a Muslim convert he met on a flight back from his holiday.

According to the reports, the man, who cannot be named after successfully applying to remain anonymous, is accused of asking the woman if she would join him for a threesome with her daughter and stripping to his underwear in front of her.

It is claimed that he kept a photo of the 51-year-old woman as a screensaver and told her that he called her name when he made love with his wife.

The alleged victim said that the abuse had begun in 2007 and gradually escalated.

She said, “He began to demand hugs and kisses from me and became upset and angry when I refused.”

The defendant, identified as VW, denied the claims and said that the two of them had in fact been in sexual relationship between 2003 and 2009 despite both being married.

The woman, identified as PQ, said that both she and her boss had attended a colleague’s civil ceremony in Brighton five years ago.

Later that evening, she said, VW and his wife knocked on her hotel room door and asked if she wanted to chat because they were not yet tired.

She said, “My room was executive with a seating area.”

“We chatted as friends. At some point, I went to the bathroom and when I got out, VW had stripped to his underpants,” she added.

She continued, “He wasn’t drunk because he doesn’t drink. I looked at his wife to ask what was going on and she looked quite upset.”

“She said: ‘How would you feel if your partner did this?’ I had never experienced him like this,” she said.

A few months later, VW is alleged to have asked PQ into his office for advice but instead showed her a photograph of herself which he used as a screen saver on his computer.

PQ, who started working at the trade union and campaign organization in the 1990s, claimed that he had told her his wife’s previous boyfriend was black and that he was attracted to tennis star Serena Williams.

PQ is claiming for acts of sexism, sexual harassment, racism, religious discrimination, victimization, unlawful deduction from salary, unfair dismissal and personal injury.
