Kuala Lumpur: Turkey is highly inspired by the structure of Islamic Finance in Malaysia and looking forward to introducing education of the Islamic finance as per Malaysia’s structure of the system.

According to the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), Turkey is making significant efforts to develop education in Islamic finance based on Malaysia's experience.

The President and Chief Executive Officer at INCEIF, Daud Vicary Abdullah, said that the country is looking at collaborating with INCEIF as well as at the government, regulatory and university levels to achieve this objective.

He was speaking at the fourth convocation of INCEIF.

He said, “Education is part of the process. So, they are looking closely at the model that Malaysia is using.”

Daud said that the center and officials from Turkey have held a number of meetings at the government and regulatory levels so far this year.

There is a clear understanding in Turkey of not only the importance of Islamic finance to support its economic growth but also the importance of building the leadership of the future, he added.

INCEIF, established in 2005 by Bank Negara Malaysia, helps to develop, nurture talents and experts under the Malaysia International Islamic Finance Centre.

In its sixth year of operation, the center remains the only university in the world to focus solely on post-graduate studies in Islamic finance.
