Paris: Issue of Syria is undoubtedly the hottest these days and the use of chemical weapons in attack on innocent Syrian people is the more hottest. The United Nations has been investigating the shameful act allegedly done by the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and still to publish the report on the probe.
The French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius, informed that the report by the United Nations inspectors probing an alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria will “probably” be published on Monday.
While talking to a French radio, he stated, “It will say that there was a chemical massacre... There will certainly be indications” of the origins of the attack.
The inspectors left Syria on August 31 after collecting samples as part of their probe into a August 21 chemical weapons attack in a suburb of the Syrian capital.
The US and its allies have said that the regime of Syrian President Assad carried out the attack, while Damascus and its ally Russia have said rebels were responsible.
“Only the regime had the (chemical weapons) stocks, the (firing) vectors and the interest in doing it, so we can draw a conclusion from that,” Fabius said.
Commenting on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s contention that rebel forces had carried out the attack, Fabius responded, “That is not the truth. This is a version the Russians have been putting forward for a long time. (Putin) is playing his game.”
