Karachi: The saga of disgusting anti-Islam film seems to continue creating troubles at least in the Muslim countries even after almost six months and this time it has hit Pakistan once again and alerted the authorities here to stop the influx of the pathetic film in any form in the country after its release in last month of the last year.

Pakistan, considered and known as the “Fort of Islam” in the world, might face tensions in its people if any CD or DVD or in any other form of the pathetic anti-Islam whatsoever enters in the country. Pakistan has experienced bloody protests, claiming lives of several people, across the country last year just after the release of anti-Islam film’s trailer on famous video-sharing website, youtube.

The Government of Pakistan is on high alert after receiving the tip that full-length movie of the anti-Islam film may enter Pakistan after its release in December last year.

In order to avert any untoward incident, the Pakistani government has asked the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to keep a controversial anti-Islam film at bay. The extracts of the disgusting film uploaded on youtube triggered a widespread protest in the Muslim world including Pakistan last year.

The Pakistani government has taken the step on a foreign tip given on Saturday as the US embassy at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, informed Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the release of the film on December 12, 2012. Later, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting informed the FBR about the release on December 14.

Consequently, the FBR directed all collectorates in Pakistan and Director General of intelligence and investigation to take appropriate steps at customs check posts to stop the influx of this film in any kind or manner into the country at the import stage.

“Maximum vigilance is required to check any kind of CDs, DVDs or video tapes of the film in any manner into Pakistan,” the FBR directed the customs authorities in a communication available with the local media.

“Such a film should be confiscated and not be allowed to enter into Pakistan,” FBR order stated.

The FBR also directed that the vigilance exercise should personally be monitored by the collectors at all the collectorates.

Few months back, the extracts of the movie uploaded on youtube unleashed street violence and killing spree within Pakistan and entire Muslim world. The Government of Pakistan blocked the website, which still remains banned, as the website has not yet removed the blasphemous content. Fearing further riots, the National Crisis Management Cell of the Ministry of Interior has informed all the provinces for taking necessary precautionary measures to avoid any unpleasant law and order incident in the country.
