Menstruation occurs before woman completes ghusl for sexual intercourse

A woman had sexual intercourse with her husband during the night and in the morning when she wakes up, she finds that she has menstrual blood. Does she have to take bath for janâbah, or does she wait until her period is over?

Sheikh `Abd al-Rahmân al-`Ajlân, lecturer at the Grand Mosque in Mecca

She is not obligated to perform ghusl at this time. Doing so will be of no benefit for her since her menstrual condition will prevent her from being able to achieve any kind of purification.
