What is the proper manner according to the Sunnah of shaking hands when greeting someone? Should one hand or both hands be used? I heard that there is a hadith in Sahîh al-Bukhârî that both hands should be used. Is it wrong or an innovation to opt for the customary way of shaking hands found in one’s culture when that way differs from the way of the Prophet (peace be upon him)?

What should a Muslim do if he know someone has been backbiting and slandering him to the extent that it has resulted in other Muslims not wanting to associate with him. Please note this is not because he has commited any sin. Most of what is being said is slander. My question is: Should the victim confront the backbiter? If that is not possible, should he warn the community that someone is slandering him? Or should he just be patient?
